2026 General Election:​ 

• Voter Registration Deadline – October 5, 2026
• Absentee Ballot Request Deadline – October 24, 2026 
• Early Voting Period – October 14 – 29, 2026

Voting on Election Day: 

In Tennessee polls open at various times, depending on the county. A list of when polls open in all 95 counties is available on GoVoteTN. All polls in Tennessee close at 8 p.m. EDT/ 7 p.m. CDT.

When voting in person, you will be asked to show one of the following Photo IDs at your polling place:

• Tennessee driver license with your photo
• United States Passport
• Photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security
• Photo ID issued by the federal or Tennessee state government
• United States Military photo ID​
